Tetraspanins participate in a variety of cellular processes, likecell activation, adhesion, differentiation and tumour invasion. CD63 / Tspan-30 is expressed in melanoma and appears to be involved in regulation of motility and adhesion of melanoma cells. CD63 / Tspan-30 is associated with early stages of melanoma tumor progression. It may play a role in growth regulation.
