Like Taq, Tfi has 5'→3' exonuclease and 5'→3' polymerase activity. PCR performance is comparable to Taq DNA polymerase in yield, specificity, fidelity, and robustness (Figure 1, A and B). Tfi can be substituted for Taq DNA Polymerase in virtually any application and is ideal for genomic, cDNA, and plasmid targets up to 4 kb in length. In addition, Tfi is free of licensing restrictions that accompany Taq polymerase. Tfi can be considered for use as a component in a diagnostic application if qualified by the end user. Tfi DNA Polymerase is supplied with a vial of magnesium-free 5X Tfi PCR Buffer [250 mM TrisHCl (pH 8.4), 75 mM (NH₄)₂SO₄, 25 mM KCl, proprietary stabilizers, 1 mM DTT], and a vial of 50 mM MgCl₂. Store at -20°C. Guaranteed stable for 6 months when properly stored.
