Description: This 201A monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD303a, which is also known as CLEC4C or Blood Dendritic Cell Antigen 2. This type II transmembrane protein is expressed almost exclusively on plasmacytoid dendritic cells, which secrete type I interferon during antiviral and antitumor responses. Studies have demonstrated that CD303a binds asialo-galactosyl-oligosaccharides on invading pathogens, resulting in the activation of signaling pathways that lead to CD303a internalization and downregulation of interferon production.
