Clone - Description

CD123 (Anti–IL-3Ra) binds to the a-chain of the interleukin-3 receptor (IL-3Ra). It selectively recognizes COS cells that have been transfected with IL-3Ra. Clone 9F5 does not block IL-3 binding to the receptor.CD123 is expressed on a subset of peripheral blood dendritic cells, on a subset of progenitor cells, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils. Neutrophils show IL-3Ra expression when they are cultured with granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) but not when freshly isolated. As IL-3 stimulates the production of hematopoietic cells, such as megakaryocytes, erythroid cells, and B cells, it is assumed that these lineages can also express IL-3Ra.
