It is a receptor tyrosine kinase containing an intracellular kinase domain and an extracellular ligand domain, although no endogenous ligand has yet been found. ErbB2 dimerizes with ErbB1, 3, and 4, and can activate different pathways including the PI3K, PLCγ, and MAPK pathways, depending on the ErbB receptor involved.
