All SOCS contain a single SH2 domain and a SOCS box, which recruits E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, thus enhancing destruction of the molecules bound by SOCS proteins. SOCS proteins influence macrophage and dendritic cell activation and are essential for T cell development and differentiation.
