Caspase 8 (CASP8) is a member of the caspase family and is involved in the signal transduction pathways of apoptosis, necrosis, and inflammation. CASP8AP2 suppresses NCOA2- and NCOA3-induced enhancement of glucocorticoid receptor transactivation upstream of NF-kappa-B. CASP8AP2 acts as a downstream mediator for Caspase 8-induced activation of NF-kappa-B and is required for the activation of caspase 8 in FAS-mediated apoptosis.
