View All» Background Information: Immunoglobulin-binding protein 1 (IgBp1), also called α4, is a regulatory subunit belonging to the IGBP1/TAP42 family. IgBp1 is potentially involved in signal transduction and in the modulation of type 2A-related Ser/Thr phosphatase catalytic activity. It has been shown to function as a stabilizing component for microtubules and midline complex interactions. IgBp1 modifies catalytic activity by forming complexes with proteins, such as the catalytic subunits PP2A-alpha, and PP2A-beta. IgBp1 expression is ubiquitous; however the highest levels noted are in heart, pancreas and skeletal muscle tissues. Mutations in the gene expression for IgBp1 result in a condition known as agenesis of the corpus collosum with mental retardation-ocular colomba-micrognathia (ACCMRCM). View All» Species Reactivity:
